I've been thinking about this for a little while and I've finally made the decision to change the brand of my white sticker paper. It's not a huge change; I have been using the same brand for my clear sticker paper, but a different brand for my white sticker paper. I'm just changing from the white vinyl sticker paper to what is called "unicorn paper" in the sticker community.
Differences
The biggest, and in my opinion only, difference between the two papers is that my old brand has an almost satin finish, whilst the new one also has a satin finish but slightly coarser than the old one. The new white sticker paper is also a bit whiter than the old one, although it's very difficult to tell unless you're specifically looking for it.
The change for me as a small business is that I will have to order two sets of sticker paper instead of one. The old brand offers paper compatible with both inkjet and laser printers. The other brand I'm switching to offers two sets of paper, one compatible with inkjet printers and the other with laser printers. This will potentially be a bump in the road for my foiled stickers as my designs are printed on both printers. But I reckon the pros over the cons will be worth it.
What is unicorn paper?
The new paper is called "unicorn paper" in the sticker community. Basically, it's a premium matte sticker paper with a satin finish. It's thin and high quality, and it makes the colors more vibrant when printed on.
I'm going to try this change out for a little bit and see how it goes. If it doesn't work out, I'll likely change back to my old sticker paper brand. ♡
